Agape’s purpose in this endeavor is to improve youth educational outcomes by improved student attendance, behavior and family stability/engagement.
Through PCN “Connectors”, Agape will provide educational and social services on-site at (and in the vicinity of) selected apartment complexes with high concentrations of poverty, low school performance and crime. 68 of the 85 lowest performing schools in Tennessee are located in Memphis. 12 of these schools are located in Frayser which one of the neighborhoods PCN serves. These connectors will serve youth in these selected PCN sites who attend low-performing schools. They will deliver a “wraparound” model to connect youth – and their families – to resources and services proven to increase academic achievement.
We are so appreciative and excited to partner with the funders in this endeavor: United Way’s Catalyst Fund, an anonymous community donor, Urban Youth Initiative, and Achievement School District.
